Fernandina Beach, FL : Two Children Killed In Accident Saturday Night on Saturday, 22nd October 2016

Two children died after a single vehicle crash in Nassau County late Saturday night. The driver of the vehicle was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver, Tonya Naomi Capallia-Eason, 33, of Fernandina Beach, crashed a 2002 Ford Expedition after she “failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway” while traveling northbound on Lonnie Crews Road at 11:45 p.m., according to an FHP report.
The large SUV then “crossed the southbound lane of Lonnie Crews Road, where it traveled onto the grassy shoulder.” The vehicle continued traveling in a northbound direction and “impacted a utility pole” before it overturned near Lina Road and came “to a final rest on its roof on the shoulder of Lina Road,” the report says.
Capallia-Eason was traveling with eight children as passengers in the SUV. Among those passengers were Nicholai Capallia, 9, and Nehemiah Capallia-Bird, 8, who were both killed in the accident. Both children were of Fernandina Beach. The six other children were taken to University of Florida Health Jacksonville, and their conditions were not immediately available.
In an unrelated incident, Jasmine L. Saint-Leger, 17, of Yulee, was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in critical condition after she was involved in a traffic crash near Chester and Pages Dairy roads on Thursday, Oct. 20, according to an FHP report.
Saint-Leger was traveling in a 2013 four-door Honda and was facing eastbound at a stop sign at Pages Dairy and Chester roads. Saint-Leger “failed to yield the right of way” to a 2013 Toyota Tundra that was heading southbound on Chester Road at Pages Dairy Road and crossed into the path of the Toyota Tundra. The Tundra then struck the left side of Saint-Leger’s vehicle, and the two vehicles came to a final rest on the east shoulder of Chester Road, according to the FHP report.
Saint-Leger was traveling with two other minors as passengers in the
vehicle. One passenger sustained minor injuries while the other sustained no injuries at all. Additionally, the driver and two passengers of the Toyota Tundra were not hurt, according to the FHP report.
