Dallas, TX : Speeding motorist dies after crashing into trooper's vehicle on Dallas North Tollway on Friday night, January 6, 2017

A motorist died after crashing into a state trooper's vehicle Friday night in Far North Dallas.
A maroon Toyota was speeding south in the left lane of the Dallas North Tollway near the Trinity Mills Road overpass when the crash occurred around 8:45 p.m., said Lt. Lonny Haschel of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The Toyota's driver lost control and veered across the tollway, eventually striking the trooper's Chevy Tahoe that was parked on the shoulder. The trooper was waiting for a tow truck to move an abandoned vehicle.
The Toyota's driver died at the scene, Haschel said. The trooper was not injured.
