Orange County, FL : Bicyclist killed in crash in east Orange County on Wednesday, 17th October 2018

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a car accident where a bicyclist was killed in east Orange County.

It happened around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday on Colonial Drive near Bonneville Drive when Rene Torres Texeira was riding his bicycle across Colonial.

Texeira, 25, of Orlando, was hit by an eastbound vehicle. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

It’s not clear if he was in the crosswalk, but witnesses said the vehicle had the green light, troopers said.
