WHITEHALL, WI : One person died early morning in a head-on collision on Friday, September 15th 2017

One person died early Friday morning in a head-on collision with a semitrailer truck on Highway 93 in Trempealeau County.

The identity of the deceased or another driver involved in the crash were not disclosed by the Trempeleau County sheriff’s office in a Friday news release.

The two vehicles collided at about 2:51 a.m. on Highway 93, about a half-mile south of Highway G in the town of Arcadia, according to the news release.

The semi driver traveling southbound had been trying to pass another vehicle and pulled into the opposing traffic lane. The driver was unable to complete the pass when the northbound car came into view, and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the automobile was pronounced dead on the scene while the semi driver was not injured.
