2 killed in Taylorsville Road crash

Two people were killed Monday night when their vehicle struck a utility pole at the intersection of Taylorsville Road and Betty Lane, near Dutchmans Lane, Louisville Metro Police said.

The driver and a front-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person in the vehicle was transported to University of Louisville Hospital.

No other vehicles were involved.

The crash occurred shortly after 10 p.m. near Bowman Field when the driver of a Ford Fusion traveling eastbound on Taylorsville lost control, possibly when the vehicle hit a patch of ice, police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said.

No other details were immediately available.
