A Greenwood teen died in a wreck that happened at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in southern Greenville County, according to the state Highway Patrol.
Jamikus Fitzgerald Jackson, 16, of Greenwood was riding in the backseat when he died at about 3 a.m., according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
The driver was a 19-year-old from Greenwood driving a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban and had 4 passengers in the vehicle, according to Cpl. Bill Rhyne with the Highway Patrol.
The vehicle was traveling south on Highway 25 about 12 miles south of Greenville when it ran off the left side of the road, struck a tree and overturned. Jackson was sitting in the third row in the backseat when he was ejected from the vehicle.
