Four people were sent to a Vancouver hospital Wednesday after a tire blowout caused the car they were in to crash.
Heather Mathers, 42, of Longview was driving a Ford Mustang north on Interstate 5 at around 1 p.m. when the right rear tire blew, causing the vehicle to swerve to the left and strike the median about 1 mile north of Woodland, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Mathers and her three passengers, all of Longview, were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center’s emergency room. Mathers, 18-year-old Cassandra Meyer and 20-year-old Matthew Orr were treated and discharged from the hospital.
The third passenger, 18-year-old Logan Stutsman Carlsen, was being evaluated Wednesday evening, according to a hospital spokesman.
