Mitchell County, KS : Man killed when pickup collides with semi near Beloit on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017
One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning in Mitchell County in north-central Kansas.
The crash was reported at 9:05 a.m. on US-24 highway, about 5 miles east of Beloit.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1990 Ford F-150 pickup truck was westbound on US-24 when it crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound 1992 Peterbilt semitrailer.
The driver of the Ford, Sean R. Cooper, 39, of Beloit, was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
The semi’s driver, identified as Yvette K. Lanz, 52, of Stanton, Neb., wasn’t injured. She was wearing a seat belt.
