WARRENSBURG, MO : 2 adults killed, 2 teens airlifted after Warrensburg crash on Tuesday, 11th June 2024

Two people died in a crash off of US Highway 50 in Warrensburg after a teen driver in another vehicle fell asleep at the wheel.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 1 p.m. on NW US Highway 50 at US-50 BUS.

MSHP reported that a 16-year-old from Warrensburg was driving alone in a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado when he fell asleep and drove off the right side of US Hwy 50. He re-entered the roadway and crossed US-50 BUS, becoming airborne and hitting another car, a 2022 Acura RDX.

The Acura had been stationary at the intersection but was pushed off the side of the road with the Chevrolet, hitting a road sign.
