STOCKTON, IL : Jo Daviess County crash kills one, injures others on Sunday, 20th May 2018

One person died and others were airlifted to local hospitals with serious injuries after a three-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon along U.S. 20, east of Mapes Road, just west of Stockton, according to the Illinois State Police.

Troopers said in a press release that a westbound Mercedes sport utility vehicle was traveling U.S. 20 when it crossed the center line and struck the rear of an eastbound semitrailer at approximately 1:43 p.m.

The sport utility vehicle then struck an eastbound pickup.

The crash remains under investigation.
