A man was arrested in Thursday's fatal-hit-and-run involving a motorcyclist.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Brookshire Boulevard near I-77. Police say 49-year-old James Williams was riding his motorcycle on Brookshire Boulevard when he lost control of his bike. The motorcycle fell to the side and he slid away from it.
Police say a truck, driven by Anthony Houser, drove over Williams while he was lying in the road. According to reports, Hoover did not stop driving after impact.
Two witnesses followed the truck that hit Williams and were able to give police the address of where the driver was in Gaston County. Gastonia police pulled him over and he was screened for impairment.
Houser was arrested and charged with felony death by vehicle and felony hit-and-run.
