ALAMEDA, CA : California state controller Betty Yee hurt in car crash on Sunday, 15th July 2018

California State Controller Betty Yee has been hurt in a car crash but authorities say her injuries are non-life threatening.

The California Highway Patrol says Yee and her husband were in an unmarked car being driven by a CHP officer when it stopped in traffic and was rear-ended in the Posey Tube, an underwater tunnel connecting Oakland and Alameda in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Yee and her husband received non-life threatening injuries.

The CHP says the other car's driver was hospitalized for severe injuries and he's suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana.
