Lakeland, FL : Cameron Richardson, 26, died in a Single-vehicle crash near Van Fleet Trail on Monday morning, March 6, 2017

Deputies are investigating a single-vehicle fatality that occurred Monday morning near Van Fleet Trail.

Cameron Richardson, 26, of Lakeland was found dead inside an overturned red pickup, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Richardson was the only occupant of the truck, deputies said, and he did not appear to be wearing a seat belt.
According to evidence, the truck appeared headed north on State Road 33 when the right tires came off the roadway. Deputies said Richardson likely over-corrected and the truck skidded before rotating counter-clockwise across both lanes, hitting several trees and coming to rest completely overturned.
The 911 call was made at 6:45 a.m. Deputies have yet to locate any eyewitnesses, but one resident in the area heard a loud noise at about 1 a.m., which might be when the crash occurred.
