Two people were trapped in their vehicle by tree limbs in a Saturday crash on Highway 126 near Santa Paula, authorities said.The accident occurred at 1:23 p.m. on eastbound Highway 126, west of Briggs Road.City of Ventura Fire Department officials said they don't know the cause of the accident but a truck carrying four people ran into a tree with enough force to rip it out of the ground. The tree and the flipped vehicle became entangled.
Two people were able to escaped the tree but two others were trapped. The branches had to be cut to free them."The vehicle was on its top and the people were pinned in the vehicle because of the tree," said Capt. Mike Lindbery of the Ventura County Fire Department, which also responded.Four people were injured. Two people with moderate injuries were taken to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura. Two other people with minor injuries were taken to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.
