Freehold Township, NJ : 1 person killed in 2-vehicle crash on central New Jersey roadway Saturday on September 27, 2014
Freehold Township, New Jersey
Authorities say a young boy was killed when two vehicles collided on a central New Jersey roadway.
But it's still not clear what caused the crash on Kozloski Road in Freehold Township, which occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday.
Monmouth County prosecutors tell the Asbury Park Press that the 7-year-old boy was a passenger in a car driven by his mother, 24-year-old Juliana Alcaraz of Howell. But the child's name was not disclosed.
It did not appear that Alcaraz or the driver of the other car, 23-year-old Michael Miranda of Freehold, were injured in the accident. No charges have been filed so far, but the investigation is ongoing.
A stretch of Kozloski Road was closed in both directions for several hours while authorities investigated the accident.
