SPLENDORA, TX : Boy killed in crash at Splendora ATV park on Sunday, 15th November, 2020

A 4-year-old boy was killed in an ATV crash Sunday night, according to authorities.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. at the Creekside Off-Road Ranch on I-59 in Splendora.
When units arrived, they struggled to find the father and son due to darkness and the size of the park. When they found them near the back of the park, the child was not responsive and CPR was immediately started. Medics worked on the child but were not able to save him.Investigators said the boy, his brother and his father were on the ATV when the father drove down an embankment and the ATV began to tip, rejecting the 4-year-old boy.
The ATV then landed on top of the child, trapping him underneath. The father was eventually able to get the ATV off the boy and start life-saving measures that, ultimately, were unsuccessful.
The father was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries and is cooperating with investigators and no charges have been filed at this time.
