Ashdown, AR : Log truck driver killed in a rollover accident on Arkansas Highway 32 Thursday, May 12, 2016

A log truck driver was killed in a rollover accident Thursday on Arkansas Highway 32 about 5 miles east of Ashdown, Ark., according to preliminary reports from Arkansas State Police.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Little River County Coroner Roddy Smith.

The name of the driver has not been released pending notification of the next of kin, Trooper J.D. Jones said.

The accident was reported to Little River County Sheriff's Department at 1:25 p.m. Thursday. The loaded log truck was westbound when it left the highway and overturned.

Ashdown Volunteer Fire Department was called to use extrication equipment to remove the driver's body from the cab.

The accident remains under investigation.
