Lake County, FL : Lake County man killed in hit-and-run crash on Thursday September 24 2015.

A Lake County man was found dead along the side of the road Thursday, steps from his home.The victim has been identified as Bill Jernigan, 64.Troopers said Jernigan is the victim of a hit-and-run crash. He was found around 8:30 p.m. along Northern Avenue near South Haines Creek Road.The investigation is underway, as family members mourn.Investigators are asking the public for help, because they have virtually nothing to go on. There are no witnesses, and there is no evidence left behind by the car, officials said.
