Washington Court House, OH : A two-vehicle crash on Wednesday, May 31, 2017
A two-vehicle crash that occurred just after 5 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Route 22 sent one man to Grant Medical Center in Columbus and caused severe damage to both vehicles.A Toyota Highlander was heading eastbound on U.S. 22 and a Lincoln MKS was coming southbound from the access road into the U.S. 22 intersection in front of Sears Hometown Store and Roller Haven. The Lincoln MKS reportedly pulled in front of the Toyota Highlander, causing the accident.
The Highlander flipped and crashed into a roadway light pole. The driver of the Highlander had to be extricated from his vehicle by Fayette County Sheriff’s Office rescue personnel. The driver of the Lincoln MKS suffered a minor injury, according to authorities.
The names of those involved were not available at press time.
Both drivers and the sole occupants of the vehicle were transported by Fayette EMS to Fayette County Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Highlander was then flown by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center for further treatment.
Sheriff’s office deputies redirected traffic for several hours as the accident scene was cleared. Personnel from the Ohio Department of Transportation responded to the scene to repair the broken light pole.
