Pine Bluff, AR : Woman, 19, dies in I-530 crash on Thursday, 3rd November 2016
A 19-year-old woman was killed Thursday afternoon on Interstate 530 in Redfield after the car she was riding in crossed the median and struck a jeep head-on, according to an Arkansas State Police Report.
The report said Olivia Perez-Porch of Little Rock was a passenger in a 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by Darrykha Dukes, 19, of Little Rock, when the south-bound vehicle crossed the grass median through the cable barrier and struck a 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by 39-year-old Brian Thompson of Pine Bluff.
Thompson’s passengers were Brittany Thompson, 29, of Pine Bluff, and an unnamed 1-year-old male, also of Pine Bluff.
The state police report notes that the road conditions were dry at the time. Further information about the accident and the condition of the four survivors wasn’t listed.
Both north and south-bound lanes of Interstate 530 near the Redfield exit were closed for several hours Thursday as emergency workers tended to victims and cleared the scene. The jeep caught fire after the crash, and firefighters were at the scene working to extinguish it.
Several agencies responded to the accident, including the Arkansas State Police, the Redfield Police Department, the White Hall Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Traffic was rerouted to Arkansas 365 for several hours and was backed up for miles.
