Hampton,NH : Man arrested on DUI charge after crashing car on October, Sunday 8th 2017

A Hooksett man was arrested for driving under the influence after he crashed his car Sunday afternoon.

At 4:22 p.m., Hooksett police responded to 5 Andrea Ave. for a report of a single-vehicle crash without injuries. Witnesses said the vehicle involved was swerving all over the road and was missing a tire prior to crashing into a ditch.

Upon arrival at the scene of the crash, officers made contact with the driver, William Shargo, 54. Shargo appeared to be under the influence of drugs, police said, and was asked to submit to field sobriety tests. Shargo agreed to the tests and was then arrested for driving under the influence.

Shargo was transported to the Hooksett Police Department where he was booked, processed and released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail, with a court date of Oct. 25 at the 6th Circuit Hooksett District Court.
