Tampa,FL : One person was dead in vehicle crash on Wednesday October 8th 2014.

Authorities in Tampa are investigating a fatal vehicle/pedestrian crash that shut down the northbound lanes of North 40th St for two hours Wednesday night. The unidentified female was struck at approximately 7:40 pm in front of the Brandywine apartment complex.According to a Tampa Police Department report the victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to Tampa General Hospital where she later died. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The report states the driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and is cooperating with police.
