Heart Butte,MT : Heart Butte man killed in Tuesday crash on January, Tuesday 16th 2018

A fatal accident occurred Tuesday morning about four miles north of Heart Butte, near the Pondera/Glacier County line.

According to a Montana Highway Patrol traffic incident report, the fatal crash was first reported at around 5:30 am Tuesday on Heart Butte Road near the intersection with Sweat Lodge Road.

Officials from the Montana Highway Patrol, Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, the Glacier County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Law Enforcement all declined to provide details regarding the fatality; however, a family member, Jay Young Running Crane, told the Tribune that the crash victim was his grandson, 20-year-old Eljaye Young Running Crane.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Foster Funeral Home and Crematory in St. Ignatius, Montana.
