SUFFOLK, VA : 1 dead after tractor-trailer crashes in Suffolk on Saturday, 8th June 2024

A person is dead following a fiery tractor-trailer crash in the early morning hours Saturday, Suffolk Fire & Rescue (SF&R) said in a Facebook post.

Suffolk fire crews and police were initially alerted to reports of a crash and a down power line on Holland Road shortly before 3 a.m.

When officials arrived at the scene, they found a large brush fire and a tractor hauling a shipping container ablaze. SF&R said the tractor-trailer had driven off the roadway, striking several trees.
