WEST PALM BEACH, FL : Bicyclist killed in crash near the intersection of Wenonah Place, north of Southern Boulevard on Wednesday, 29th April, 2020

A bicyclist who collided with a city truck Wednesday morning has died, West Palm Beach police said.


The crash happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. along South Olive Avenue near the intersection of Wenonah Place, north of Southern Boulevard.


Police identified the bicyclist Wednesday afternoon as Charles Lomrantz, 73, of West Palm Beach.


Investigators say that the city grapple truck, which collects debris and yard waste, was heading north on Olive Avenue and turned right onto Wenonah, crashing into the bicyclist.


The truck was going at about 5 mph, authorities said.
