Walker County, AL : Boaz man dies in tractor-trailer crash in Walker County on Tuesday, 16th April 2024

A Boaz man has died following a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday in Walker County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 40-year-old Stephen A. Zmolek Jr. was fatally injured when the 2015 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer he was driving left the roadway, overturned, and caught fire.

Zmolek Jr. was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred about 10:05 a.m. on Interstate 22 near the 49 mile marker, approximately five miles east of Carbon Hill, in Walker County.
