Two men were injured and hospitalized and one dog died after two hit-and-run incidents in Lake Tahoe on Monday, August 28, 2017.
The California Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe Monday afternoon, leaving a man with serious injuries.
At 1:40 p.m., 58-year-old Larry D. Ferguson was riding east on McKinney Rubicon Springs Road in Tahoma when he was struck by a gray mid-sized SUV traveling west as he made a turn onto Bellevue Avenue.
CHP officers say Ferguson fell to the ground and hit his head, causing major injuries. He was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno by Care Flight.
The driver of the SUV is an unidentified woman who was seen traveling south on Bellevue Avenue.
CHP is asking for the public's help in finding the driver involved in the crash. If you have any information regarding the collision call Officer J. Fontes with CHP Truckee at 530-582-7570.
In a second incident around 8:45 p.m. Monday night, an unidentified man was hit by a car on Highway 50 near Marla Bay as he chased his dog onto the roadway.
A vehicle traveling eastbound struck the dog and the man, then fled eastbound according to Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) Trooper Dan Gordon.
Tahoe Douglas Fire and Douglas County Sheriff's Office were on the scene when NHP arrived. The victim was transported to Barton Hospital with a broken leg and various cuts and scratches Gordon said.
