Guthrie, OK : Eufaula woman, Texas man killed in separate crashes on Saturday, March 4th 2017
A Eufaula woman was killed early Sunday in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 270 and a Texas man was killed in a separate accident on Saturday afternoon near McAlester, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
In the Sunday crash, OHP said in a press release Nicole Blair, 24, of Eufaula, was driving a pickup westbound on U.S. 270 east of Daisy Road at 2:51 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was pinned for approximately two hours before being freed by the Haywood and Blue fire departments with the use of a Hurst tool. The OHP said Blair was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the crash Saturday afternoon, authorities said Patrick Beattie, 69, from Springtown, Texas, was driving southbound on U.S. 69 about one tenth of a mile south of Coal Creek Bridge — approximately four miles north of McAlester — when his vehicle left the roadway at approximately 3:39 p.m. and struck a concrete barrier. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
Both accidents remain under investigation.
