La Crosse, WI : Madison teen who died in single vehicle crash Sunday identified on Sunday, September 3, 2017

The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim of a fatal collision in the town of Burke as 16-year-old Michael Andrew Neill.

Neill died from injuries sustained when his car left the roadway and struck a tree Sunday night, the medical examiner's office said. Additional testing is underway.

TOWN OF BURKE — A 16-year-old Madison boy was killed Sunday night in a one-car crash on Reiner Road, south of Burke Road, the Dane County Sheriff's Office reported.

Deputies responded at about 9:40 p.m. Sunday to the crash, in which a 2001 Nissan Maxima traveling south on Reiner Road left the east side of the road and hit a tree, Lt. Anthony F. Fleres said in a statement Sunday.

The teen was the car's sole occupant and died at the scene before deputies arrived, the sheriff's office said. He was not identified pending notification of family members.

The crash remained under investigation late Sunday night.
