Ocala, FL : Three adults hurt in Ocala crash involving school bus on Tuesday, 25th February, 2020
A driver was injured early Tuesday when he turned in front of a school bus.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers ticketed James Gosford for improper U-turn at a red light.
Gosford, 39, had minor injuries and was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center for treatment, troopers said.
Donna Mosher, 63, the school bus driver, and 21-year-old Gabriela Forsythe, a passenger, were taken to West Marion Community Hospital with minor injuries, officials said.
No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, FHP officials said.
Troopers said Gosford was driving his Ford F-150 eastbound on State Road 40 when he tried to make a U-turn on a red light into a gas station at Northwest 110th Street.
The bus was headed west on SR 40 and had a green light when it collided with the pickup not far from the intersection, the patrol said.
FHP officials said the truck was turned onto its side.
Mosher and Forsythe were the only people onboard the bus, authorities said.
Marion County School Board spokesman Kevin Christian said the bus was on its way to pick up students for Saddlewood Elementary and West Port High. The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m.
