SUMTER COUNTY, SC : Driver dead following three car collision in Sumter County on Wednesday, 6th December 2023

A driver is dead following a car accident in Sumter County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Authorities say the collision occurred around 3:50 am on Wednesday on Pinewood Road about 5 miles from Sumter.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision, a 2011 Mercury SUV, a 2021 Toyota Sedan and a 2019 Jeep SUV, authorities said.

The Mercury was traveling West on Pinewood Road and the Toyota and Jeep were traveling East, according to authorities.
