Wrentham, MA : Cyclist Struck And Killed By Dump Truck In Wrentham Saturday evening on September 27, 2014

A cyclist was killed early Saturday evening after being hit by a dump truck in Wrentham. The accident occurred on West Street near the intersection of Jenks Street. Wrentham police Detective Lt. William McGrath told WBZ-TV’s Jim Smith that early indications are that the cyclist may have been blinded by solar glare and took a turn before colliding with the truck which was traveling in the opposite direction. The cyclist, identified as a 48-year-old Scott Fleming of Wrentham, was struck as he was taking a left turn onto Jenks Street. After the collision, the small dump truck careened into the woods and sheared off a telephone pole before smashing into a tree. Police responded to the accident after receiving a 911 call from the truck driver who was not hurt. Some neighbors in the area said the narrow winding road running through the woods can be dangerous. Wrentham police and state police are investigating. They will also check the dump truck to make sure there were no mechanical issues. Source : Cyclist killed after crashing into truck in Wrentham
