York,SC : A driver killed in a single-vehicle crash on August, Tuesday 1st 2017

A driver killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-77 in Rock Hill Tuesday afternoon has been identified by the York County coroner as 52-year-old Mitchell Madden of Kershaw.

The wreck happened at 4:54 p.m. on northbound I-77 near mile marker 79. Troopers say a 1999 Buick passenger car ran off the right side of the road, hit a guard rail, went down an embankment, then struck a tree.

Madden, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Autopsy and toxicology results are pending.
