Police say two people are dead and one person is hospitalized with critical injuries following a wreck on Interstate 64 in Barboursville.

Multiple media outlets report that a westbound vehicle hydroplaned and crossed median cable barriers around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday near the Huntington Mall. The vehicle hit an eastbound vehicle.

Both drivers were killed. Barboursville police on Wednesday identified the victims as 18-year-old Emily Schoening of Cincinnati and 48-year-old Jerrold Williams of Cottageville.

A female passenger in the eastbound vehicle was taken to a hospital.

The wreck was one of three within 24 hours that shut down I-64 in Cabell County.

Both westbound lanes between the mall and Milton were closed for three hours Wednesday morning following a wreck.

A jackknifed tractor-trailer also closed both westbound lanes Tuesday in Huntington.
