Police say two people are dead and one person is hospitalized with critical injuries following a wreck on Interstate 64 in Barboursville.
Multiple media outlets report that a westbound vehicle hydroplaned and crossed median cable barriers around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday near the Huntington Mall. The vehicle hit an eastbound vehicle.
Both drivers were killed. Barboursville police on Wednesday identified the victims as 18-year-old Emily Schoening of Cincinnati and 48-year-old Jerrold Williams of Cottageville.
A female passenger in the eastbound vehicle was taken to a hospital.
The wreck was one of three within 24 hours that shut down I-64 in Cabell County.
Both westbound lanes between the mall and Milton were closed for three hours Wednesday morning following a wreck.
A jackknifed tractor-trailer also closed both westbound lanes Tuesday in Huntington.
