Honolulu, HI : A 25-year-old man was critically injured in a single moped crash at Kalanianaole Highway near Kawaihae Street On Friday, May 20th, 2016

A 25-year-old man is in critical condition after a single moped crash in Hawaii Kai Friday morning.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on Kalanianaole Highway near Kawaihae Street. Emergency Medical Services officials say the moped rider was not wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.

Two westbound lanes of Kalanianaole Highway were closed this morning while police were on scene. Police reopened the road just after 6:30 a.m.
