A 16-year-old motorist killed in a two-vehicle accident in Kenosha County on Wednesday afternoon has been identified.
Samantha J. Russell died when the pickup truck she was driving north on 392nd Ave. turned into the westbound lanes of State Highway 50 in Wheatland township and collided with a van heading west on Highway 50, the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department reported Thursday.
Russell was pinned in the truck when it overturned. A 12-year-old family friend in Russell's truck, Kayla R. Brown, was seriously injured and remained hospitalized Thursday.
The van driver, Jennifer A. Walsh, 34, of Beach Park, Ill. suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Burlington Hospital.
Neither alcohol or speed appear to be factors in the crash, according to the sheriff's department
