JONES COUNTY, MS : Byram man dies in Jones County crash on Highway 184 on Tuesday, 7th August 2018

A Byram man died in a Jones County crash on Tuesday morning.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Travis Luck, a semi-trailer truck traveling east on Highway 84 collided with a Ford Escape traveling north on Highway 184 as the Ford attempted to cross the eastbound lane at Highway 84. The crash happened around 10:20 a.m.

Luck said the driver of the Ford, 85-year-old Robert Patt, was transported to South Central Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A dog traveling with Patt was discovered at the scene minutes later and was rescued by Southern Cross Animal Rescue. The dog was not injured and is doing fine.
