Two people were killed and two injured in separate traffic crashes on U.S. Highway 19-E on Wednesday night, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.The fatalities occurred at the intersection of 19-E and Bunker Hill Road in Bluff City about 6:30 p.m., the THP said.

The investigating trooper reported that a 1996 Ford F150 pickup driven by Michael Cook, 55, Bluff City, was traveling north on 19-E and swerving in the roadway, according to a witness’ statement.

Cook’s vehicle crossed the median into the southbound lanes and struck a 2014 Jeep Latitude driven by Kelly Roberts, 30, Bluff City, head-on.

Both Cook and Roberts were killed in the crash.
