EL PASO COUNTY, CO : El Paso County highway crash involving possible school van sends 2 to the hospital on Monday, 16th September 2024

Two people were hospitalized after a van and car collided east of Colorado Springs Monday night.

According to a spokesperson for Colorado State Patrol, a Ford van and a Volkswagen Passat were both traveling in the same lane on westbound Highway 94 when the van tried to make a turn but didn’t slow down in time and rear-ended the van. The force of impact caused both vehicles to run off the road, with the Volkswagen then crashing into an electric pole.

Both people in the Volkswagen were hurt in the crash and transported to the hospital. The passenger suffered serious injuries, while the driver’s injuries were described as moderate.

State Patrol said two passengers in the van reported minor injuries but were able to be treated on scene. No one else in the vehicle was hurt.
