Lower Saucon Township, PA : SUV rams Lower Saucon home as driver accidentally hits gas pedal on Tuesday, November 4, 2014
No one appears to have been seriously injured when a SUV crashed through the front door of a Lower Saucon Township condominium, according to emergency radio reports.
The blue Chevrolet SUV with a Pennsylvania license plate was lodged partially inside the home at 1839 Mansfield Street in the Society Hill at Saucon Valley community after the accident, which occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
No one was inside condominiums on either the top or bottom level at the time of the accident, according to reports from the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
At about 3:30 p.m. emergency crews were working to dismantle the wall around the SUV and stabilize the home.
The condo on the lower level appeared to have been badly damaged, with parts of the door, doorframe and front window caved in. Portions of the living room were visible from the outside.
Lower Saucon Township police and firefighters from Se-Wy-Co Fire Co. responded to the call. Neither could immediately be reached for comment.
