Nevada county, CA : 43-year-old woman died in a single car crash in the Banner Mountain area early Tuesday morning, Aug 25, 2015
A single car crash early Tuesday morning resulted in the death of 43-year-old woman in the Nevada City area. According to the California Highway Patrol, Amanda B. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, where her 2007 BMW struck a power pole at approximately 12:38 a.m.
Taylor reportedly was westbound on Butterfly Drive, approaching Redwood Place in the Banner Mountain area, when her car left the roadway, went over the dirt shoulder and struck a wooden power pole.
The car continued on and struck a garage of a private residence and several parked vehicles in a driveway — including a camper, a pickup truck, and a sedan – as well as trees and shrubs. The collision resulted in damaged PG&E power lines, which the CHP reported caused several small spot fires in the area. After PG&E attended to the power lines, the fires were extinguished by Cal Fire. According to the CHP, the collision remains under investigation. Taylor’s possible impairment was still unknown as of Tuesday afternoon, pending a coroner’s report and toxicology results.
