EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA : Baton Rouge man dies in crash on US 61 near Zachary on Monday, 28th December 2020

Troopers with Louisiana State Police say a Baton Rouge man is dead after a single-vehicle crash near Zachary on Monday, Dec. 28.
Investigators say Bryson Carney, 27, of Baton Rouge, was traveling southbound on US 61 at LA 964 in a 2001 Mazda Tribute shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday.
For reasons still under investigation, police say the Mazda left the roadway and went into a canal and became partially submerged.
TFC Taylor Scrantz, an agency spokesperson, says Carney was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
