Bardstown, KY : Woman killed in single vehicle crash in Nelson County on Thursday, January 1, 2015

A 53-year-old woman has died in a crash in the 200 block of Monks Road south of Bardstown, north of New Haven.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Office says the woman was driving a 2014 Kia Soul going eastbound on Monks Road when the car veered off the left side of the road at a high rate of speed. Around 12:45 a.m. in January 1, the vehicle hit a culvert and went airborn, hitting a utility pole on the read driver side. The car came to a rest of the driver's side.
