Brevard County, FL : One person injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving Mears bus near the Beachline on the Banana River Bridge on Sunday, June 28, 2015

A multi-vehicle crash involving a Mears bus sent at least one person to the hospital.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m. Sunday near the Beachline on the Banana River Bridge.

At one point, the Beachline was shut down and cars were diverted at the exit before the crash for about an hour.

One of the drivers involved in the crash described the incident.

“All we knew was we’re at highway speed and then we got hit from behind. And then there was this big, yellow Mears bus immediately to our left and we stopped right next to each other,” Charles Keen said.

At least one person was taken to a hospital, but officials have not said if that person was a bus passenger or in another vehicle.

No other information has been released about the crash.
