Burrton, KS : Two men injured in ATV accident in Harvey County on Tuesday evening, May 17, 2016

Emergency crews responded to an ATV accident Tuesday evening in Harvey County. It happened around 9 p.m. north of Burrton on Burmac and Northwest 12th Street. Officials say the ATV was going up a hill when it rolled.

Two men, 39 and 40 years old, were both on the ATV. The passenger, a 40-year-old man from Hutchinson, was found unconscious with serious injuries. He was transported by a Lifeteam helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He remains in serious but stable condition.

The 39-year-old driver from Nickerson received minor injuries and was transported to Wesley Hospital by personal vehicle.

The Harvey County Sheriff says alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident, and the case is under review.
