Lynchburg, VA : Rustburg man killed in Campbell County accident on Saturday, March 18, 2017

Virginia State Police on Sunday confirmed a Rustburg man, Timothy M. Carderelli, was killed in a vehicle crash in Campbell County Saturday.

The crash occurred at 2:42 a.m. on Virginia 680 less than a mile east of Virginia 669. Carderelli, 45, was driving a 2009 Kia Spectra along Virginia 680 when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, according to an email from VSP Spokeswoman Corrine Geller.

Carderelli, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, the email said.

The crash remains under investigation.
