A Marietta man died Wednesday after he was a passenger in a car that overturned.
Nathan S. Hurst, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining massive injuries in a rollover crash that ejected him from the car.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol received the call of an overturned vehicle at 7:22 p.m. on U.S. Highway 77 four miles south of Thackerville.
After investigating, troopers found that a 2000 Nissan Maxima driven by a 17-year-old Ardmore girl was traveling northbound on Hwy 77 when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle departed the roadway to the right. Troopers said the driver overcorrected to the left and departed the roadway by 75 feet, ultimately causing the vehicle to flip over. Troopers said they were unsure how many times the vehicle rolled.
During the rollover, Hurst was ejected an unknown distance from the car.
The 17-year-old was transported by medical helicopter to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas. She was admitted in good condition with a leg injury.
