Portland, OR : One person died in crash between motorcycle, pickup closes Marine Drive on Sunday, Aug 23, 2015

A deadly crash between a motorcyclist and pickup truck closed parts of Marine Drive as investigators looked into what caused the collision.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 6100 block of North Marine Drive.

Police say the motorcyclist died on scene. The driver of the pickup was taken to a nearby hospital; he's expected to survive his injuries.


Crash investigators haven't released the names of those involved.

A few years back, the Portland Bureau of Transportation labeled North/Northeast Marine Drive a high crash corridor, meaning there are far more crashes on the strip of road than the average Portland street.
