A teenage driver was killed in a crash Thursday afternoon in western Wisconsin.

Alexsis D. Albrightson, 17, of Woodville, Wis., was driving westbound on 70th Avenue in the town of Warren, Wis., when she crashed just west of 150th Street, according to the St. Croix County sheriff's office. Authorities responded to the crash at about 3:45 p.m.

A witness said Albrightson lost control of the 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora and crossed the center line before striking a guardrail, the sheriff's office said. The car then went over the guard rail and struck a culvert before coming to rest in a ditch.

Albrightson, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
