CHINO HILLS, CA : Man killed when car slams into bus carrying basketball team on Sunday, November 13th 2016

Authorities say a driver was killed when his car slammed into the rear of a bus carrying members of the San Diego Christian College basketball team.

The California Highway Patrol says nobody on the bus was hurt in the fiery collision around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on State Route 71 in western San Bernardino County.

City News Service reports video shows a charred Volkswagen Jetta wedged under rear of the bus. The driver, who died at the scene, was the only occupant of the Volkswagen. His name wasn't immediately released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The basketball team from the small college in Santee was returning from a game in Bakersfield.
